The Bryan McDowell Bluegrass Band delivered an exceptional evening of traditional and contemporary bluegrass that had the audience captivated from start to finish. Opening act The Wayne Rangers featuring Mark Schultz set a strong foundation with tight harmonies and Schultz's impressive banjo work. When McDowell took the stage alongside the legendary Mark Schatz on bass, Jake Stargel (guitar), and Alex Genova (banjo), the musicianship reached another level entirely. Schatz's masterful bass work provided both thunderous drive and melodic sophistication, while Stargel and Genova's contributions created a rich, layered sound that showcased the ensemble's remarkable chemistry. McDowell's versatility on fiddle and mandolin shone throughout the set. This is bluegrass done right—respectful of tradition yet unafraid to push boundaries.
